EDITING

Since 2011, I have worked with both seasoned and first-time authors to hone and revise their manuscripts. As a developmental editor, I focus on craft, story arc, and narrative flow, helping writers to reach their full potential and ready their books for publication.

It has been my privilege to work on award-winning memoirs and groundbreaking essay collections.

Highlights include:

The Woman in the Photograph: The Search for My Mother's Pastby Mani Feniger. Feniger's account of unearthing her mother's lost German-Jewish past won the 2013 Best Memoir Award from the Bay Area Independent Publisher's Association.

• Love InshAllah: The Secret Love Lives of American Muslim Women, by Ayesha Mattu & Nura Maznavi (Soft Skull Press). Due to the success of this critically acclaimed essay collection, Mattu & Maznavi published a sequel.

I work with both self-published and traditionally published authors, and offer follow-up support services catered to each individual client. This might include collaborating on a book proposal, or helping an indie author to navigate the publishing process.

I also offer line and copy editing, which can be done independently, or combined in a package with developmental editing.

Please email me for rates and availability.

GHOSTWRITING

After more than 15 years as a writer and journalist, I am now available for ghostwriting.

I am most interested in collaborating on memoir, spiritual and personal development, and health and wellness books.

If you have a project in mind, please email me with details.

MANUSCRIPT ASSESSMENTS

If you're in need of detailed feedback, I also offer manuscript assessments. In an 8-10 page written critique, I assess the manuscript's overall strengths and weaknesses, analyze plot and character development, and offer concrete suggestions for improvement.

I also include a 30-minute follow-up phone call in case you have any questions, or need further clarity.

The flat rate for an assessment is $1,000.
